Local History
Sugar River Crossing is located just minutes from Attica, the first English settlement in the Town of Brooklyn, founded in 1840. Attica was originally a Native American village, located along the Sugar River. Many Native American artifacts have been found along its banks. Attica is also the location of one of a few public access points to the Sugar River in Green County.

Sugar River State Trail
This 23-mile trail, part of the Ice Age National Trail, traces the gentle meanders of the Sugar River between New Glarus and Brodhead. Bikers and hikers can enjoy a replica of the Clarence covered bridge.
Badger State Trail
The Badger State Trail intersects with the Sugar River State Trail near Monticello, the Capitol City State Trail in the city of Fitchburg, the Cheese Country in the city of Monroe, and also the Ice Age Trail.
Sugar Creek Stables
Walking distance from Sugar River Crossing is the family owned Sugar Creek Stables. A full service horse boarding facility where the owners live onsight and provide a safe envirionment for horses and owners. They are located at W1977 Brookln-Albany Rd., Brooklyn WI, 53521; 608-862-1212.
School District
The Albany School District is part of the Six Rivers Conference and has been educating students for over a century. Recent renovation and additions to the school prove commitment. Home of the flaming Comets!
Yanna Astronomical Research Station
Less than 3 miles from Sugar River Crossing and fitting in with our comnumity's "Dark Sky" philosophy is the Yanna Research Station (YRS). YRS has been the Madison Astronomical Society's prime dark sky site since 1984. It is available for use by members and their accompanied guests.

Albany"Pearl of the Sugar River"
